Vince's North Port Restaurant

We live close to Vince's North Port Restaurant, and we love eating there.  They've recently celebrated their addition of Vince's South Port Restaurant on the south side of town.  I haven't eaten there yet, but if it's half as good as Vince's North Port then I may be in trouble. Last night we ordered Vince's North Port to go.

Mookie ordered the sirloin, medium-well, with a potato.  Here's his meal:

I must admit that I ordered the plain fettucini alfred. However, Vince's offers chicken alfredo and a cajun alfredo (with shrimp and crawfish).  They accidentally gave me the chicken alfredo and I was delightly surprised to find FRIED CHICKEN in my fettucini.  I've never seen fried chicken in fettucini, but it was GREAT!

Lean Cuisine - Chicken with Basil Cream Sauce

As you can tell...I've become a recent fan of Lean Cuisine, but it's always a hit and miss....
I've found a few that I like, and this is one of them.  It's Lean Cuisine Chicken with Basil Cream Sauce.
Here is a comparison of the manufacturer's picture and what it REALLY looks like:

The chicken is actually covered in the sauce instead of drizzled as in the box picture. However, the sauce in this dish is REALLY good, so it's actually tastier that way.  The noodles are quite bland unless you mix the sauce into them...otherwise, no taste at all.  The chicken is very good (and that says alot...it's hard to make a good frozen dinner with chicken as the entree).

Papa John's Pizza

I LOVE Papa John's Pizza!  Here is a comparison of what it's supposed to look like and what it actually looks like....

The cheese wasn't quite as plentiful as depicted in their picture, but it sure did taste good!
Here's the breadsticks:

Chicken Doritoe Casserole and Kroger Brand Noodles n Sauce, Sara Lee Cheesecake

Chicken Doritoe Casserole
1 pack of chicken (or a small, whole chicken)
1 bag of Doritoes (you will have leftovers for munchin)
Sauce:
2-3 tbs butter
1 onion
jalepeno
1can cream of mushroom soup
1can cream of chicken soup
1cup milk

Topping:
Several slices of cheese

Directions:

Boil your chicken.

Set chicken aside when done in order to cool. Once cooled, tear chicken into small bite-sized pieces.

Sautee chopped onion and jalepeno in 2-3 tbs of butter.

Once vegetables are tender, add 1 cup milk, both cans of soup, and stir.  You can make a thinner sauce by adding some of the chicken broth you got from cooking the chicken.  (I usually add at least 1/4 cup of broth).
Line casserole dish with Doritoes and push down to crush them up a little.

Top Doritoes with chicken.

Pour sauce on top of chicken.

Top with cheese.

Bake on 350degrees until cheese is melted and starting to brown.

To go with the casserole, I made Kroger Brand Noodles n Sauce.
Here is a comparison of what it's supposed to look like and what it actually looks like:

I also added a can of corn, and here's the finished meal:

Later, I made Sara Lee frozen cheesecake.  I used the microwaveable thawing method.  It was still frozen in the middle, but starting to get runny around the edges.  Taste is 5 outta 5 though.

Lean Cuisine - Roasted Turkey Breast with Dressing

If you haven't noticed, my blog has suffered due to major diet restrictions b/c of health problems. I hope you still enjoy these "bland" posts :)

My new favorite Lean Cuisine is this Roasted Turkey Breast with Dressing and Cinnamon Apples.  This is a comparison of what it's supposed to look like as to what it actually does look like.

The food actually looks close to what it looks like on the box with the exception of the dressing.  On the box the gravy is soley on the turkey; however as you can see, in the carton the turkey is on top of the dressing, and both of the items are soaked in gravy.  But...I like it better this way! It doesn't LOOK quite as appetizing but it sure tastes great!

There weren't quite as many apples as the box predicts..but again, they taste great, so I can forgive Stouffers.
